Welsh Highland Railway 100 years weekend, 30-31 July 2022

Tickets for the highly anticipated Welsh Highland Railway Centenary event weekend at Dinas, 30-31 July 2022, are now on sale. Details and tickets here; festrail.co.uk/welsh-highland-railway-centenary

The event weekend will be primarily centred at Dinas where we will be operating a selection of heritage trains between Dinas and Rhyd Ddu (as South Snowdon is now known) to celebrate the reopening of this section of line.

The only surviving original Welsh Highland Railway steam locomotive, ‘Russell’, based at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway at Porthmadog, will be running along the Welsh Highland Railway during the event.

There will be plenty to keep visitors occupied over the weekend with ‘Russell’ and ‘Palmerston’ Heritage Trains, an Evening Photo Charter, a ‘White Way’ bus service, Footplate Rides, Model Layouts, Photo Exhibitions, pre-1939 Vintage Car display, Catering Van, Cakes stand and a Real Ale Bar.

There will also be complementary activities at Gelert’s Farm, Porthmadog on the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway over the weekend.
